Direct Line Pet Insurance

Direct Line – Direct Line Insurance started in the UK in April of 1985.  They only had one product - car insurance, and one way to buy it – over the telephone.  Now they have over five million customers and a wide range of products, they still do business over the telephone but you can also use the internet.

 

Direct Line Pet Insurance covers all cats and dogs except working animals and dangerous dogs.  The pet health insurance policy usually starts from 8 weeks until 9 years although it could be 6 years in the case of some breeds.

 

With Direct Line you can tailor the health policy to suit the needs of you pet, and in all policies vet bills are included

 

Direct Line pet insurance comes in two categories

 

Essential Policy - This pet insurance from Direct Line covers your vet's bills for a maximum of 12 months treatment for each illness, injury or disease, up to £4,000 (per condition).

 

 

Advanced Policy -  This pet insurance from Direct Line covers your vet's bills up to £6,000 (per condition), with no time limit.


Direct Line also have additional cover benefits that you can add on to your pet health insurance policies, these include amongst others

Advertising and reward if your pet gets lost or stolen

Pet boarding costs if you have to go into hospital for more than 4 days

For dogs - public liability of up to 1 million pounds if you dog causes injury to another person or causes damage to property

Over seas travel insurance.
